2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid Options

2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid

Toyota has been king of the hybrid world for quite some time, outselling nearly all other hybrid competitors combined. The Prius is still the standard by which many hybrid vehicles are measured. Toyota really delivers some efficient, cost-effective performance with the new 2015 Toyota Camry Hybrid models.

Toyota has released the Camry LE, SE, and XLE as hybrids, and all have a starting msrp comfortably below $30,000. The hybrids earn an EPA rating of 43 miles per gallon in the city and 39 mpg highway in LE trim, and 40 mpg city and 38 mpg highway in SE and XLE trims. Many reviewers and owners of the new 2015 hybrid, though, are consistently seeing 45 mpg highway– well above the EPA rating.

According to Toyota, Toronto area hybrid owners are expected to save just over $1,000 (CAD) in fuel costs each year when compared to the the standard new Camry. Any additional expense in opting for a hybrid undoubtedly pays for itself several times over throughout the life of the vehicle. Hybrid owners do give up just a little bit of trunk space. The 1.6 kilowatt-hour nickel-metal-hydride battery is tucked under the rear seats and marginally carries over into the trunk.

Performance is essentially unchanged with the Camry Hybrid. Drivers are not likely to notice a big difference between the standard non-hybrid engine and the 2.5 liter four-cylinder engine and electric tractive motor. Other than the fact that together with the Hybrid Synergy Drive they produce an unbelievable 200 horsepower. Hybrid drivers benefit from a bigger rush thanks to the added torque from the electric motor system upon initial acceleration. The Toyota Camry Hybrid gets up to 100 KPH in under 8 seconds.
