The standards for automotive safety are fast-moving targets, and rightfully so. It’s not a surprise that the Toyota Camry has been earning better and higher marks on safety tests every year. The 2015 Toyota Camry won the IIHS top safety pick and has really surpassed the competition with the standard, best-in-class safety features.

Keeping Toyota’s 2012 airbag improvements, the 2015 Toyota Camry offers the best-in-class 10 airbags standard with all of the Camry models. Dual-stage advanced front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side airbags, side curtain airbags and driver and passenger knee airbags envelope all passengers. This paired with steel pillar and panel reinforcements minimize impact to the cabin during the event of a side collision. Your precious cargo stays safe.

Like all modern Toyota vehicles, the 2015 Camry comes standard with the STAR Safety System™. Ideal for Toronto driving conditions, this includes Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control, which reduce engine power and engage the brakes for the correct situation if you start to slip or slide. Also standard on all of the new 2015 Camry models is the Anti-lock Braking System that help stop you from skidding when you need to hit the brakes in a hurry. This is aided by Electronic Brake-force Distribution which redistributes brake force to all of your wheels, evenly. Brake Assist, which can sense when you need help stopping faster, will automatically apply more force for you. And as an added measure, Smart Stop Technology is included, automatically stopping your Camry even if the accelerator is still engaged.

Another cool, standard safety feature keeps you from ending up stranded. The battery-saver feature deactivates interior lights after 20 minutes.

The 2015 Camry also offers a few optional, advanced safety features. Toyota’s intuitive Pre-Collision System uses radar to warn you if it determines there’s a possibility of a collision.

The Lane Departure Warning system will also alerts you when your car wanders into another lane without a directional. The Auto High Beam feature and Adaptive Cruise Control are also part of the optional safety package, as is the Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross Traffic.

The 2015 Toyota Camry is easily one of the safest mid-size family cars available in the greater Toronto area. If you’re often carrying precious cargo, or traveling Toronto’s busy highways every day, let us know that you’re ready for some peace of mind.
